In December 2015, the two Captains Regent represented San Marino at COP21, which was held in Paris. The Captains Regent and the Foreign Minister Luca Beccari visited Paris for the Olympic and Paralympic Games and attended the reception of Heads of State and Government at the Élysée Palace on 26 July 2024. The Captains Regent participated in the ceremony of the re-opening of Notre Dame on 7 December 2024 and were in Paris from 10 to 12 December 2024 for the 50th anniversary of San Marino’s membership in UNESCO. Cultural, scientific and technical cooperation A cultural and scientific agreement was signed in December 1985. It focuses on the development of exchanges in the fields of science teaching, the arts and sports.
