Biography

Born on July 8, 1985, in Paris, Éléonore Caroit completed her schooling at the Lycée Français of Santo Domingo before continuing her studies at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and Columbia University in New York.

Lawyer by training, she specializes in international arbitration and litigation, with a strong focus on Latin America. Registered to the bars of Paris and New York as well as to the Geneva Bar Association, she practices law with a distinctly international scope.

French and Dominican, Éléonore Caroit speaks five languages: French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Italian.

In June 2022, she was elected Member of Parliament for the 2nd constituency of French citizens living abroad, representing Latin America and the Caribbean. In the National Assembly, she was appointed Vice-President of the Foreign Affairs Committee and sat on the Board of Directors of the French Development Agency (AFD). These two roles enabled her to strengthen Latin America’s presence on France’s political agenda and to promote a renewed dialogue between France and this region of the world.

In October 2025, Éléonore Caroit was appointed Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, responsible for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Nationals Abroad. In this capacity, she continues her commitment to promoting France’s global influence, the French language, and international cooperation.
