Visits

There have been no visits to France since the trip to Biarritz in August 2019, on the sidelines of the G7 meeting, of the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif. Jean-Yves Le Drian, then Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, visited Iran in March 2018.

Educational, cultural, scientific, academic and technical cooperation

Following a period of growth after the conclusion of the JCPOA, our bilateral cooperation in culture, education, science and technology has now fallen considerably, and on 5 January 2023, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the unilateral closure of the French Institute for Research in Iran (IFRI).
