SWAN supports early- and mid-career professionals as well as experienced leaders and experts in the space industry. It works closely with space organizations, employers, event organizers and educational establishments to encourage collaboration and make gender equality a priority throughout the sector. Learn more about Space Women Alliance ASTRES (Alliance Stratégique des Étudiants du Spatial) ASTRES (Alliance Stratégique des Étudiants du Spatial, or Strategic Alliance for Students in Space) brings together more than 200 students and young professionals in France from all disciplines in the space sector, including engineering, law, research, economics, communication, medicine, design and political science. Founded in 2023, the association aims to strengthen young people’s involvement in major space challenges and help them actively contribute to strategic thinking that will shape the sector’s future. Through its working groups, publications, conferences, podcasts and events, ASTRES fosters dialogue between the next generation and the entire French and European space ecosystem. At a time when NewSpace is profoundly transforming the sector, and new actors, new economic models, technological innovations, and sovereignty, security, sustainability and governance issues are emerging, ASTRES helps structure a multidisciplinary approach to the major challenges for the future. Learn more about ASTRES (in French) La Fabrique de la Diplomatie (The Diplomacy Factory) On 4 and 5 September 2026, the Diplomatic and Consular Academy will hold the second edition of La Fabrique de la Diplomatie (the Diplomacy Factory). This event presents the diverse range of professions and participants involved in French diplomacy through discussions on international relations. In partnership with the International Space Summit, La Fabrique de la Diplomatie will also highlight space-related international issues and raise awareness among the decision-makers of tomorrow about this vital strategic field. Learn more about La Fabrique de la Diplomatie Académie Spatiale d’Île-de-France Launched in January 2024, the Académie Spatiale d’Île-de-France (Île-de-France Space Academy) is supported by the France 2030 plan and aims to develop space skills in the Paris region. It seeks to meet the needs of the regional space sector by raising awareness of and improving the range of training opportunities in the space field. The Académie Spatiale brings together eight higher education establishments: Paris-Saclay University, University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ), Sorbonne University, Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL) University, Université Paris Cité, Université Paris-Est Créteil Val-de-Marne (UPEC), Institut Polytechnique de Paris, and ONERA, the French national laboratory for aerospace research. Labelled an official event by the General Secretariat for the International Space Summit, the Space Executive School, organized by the Académie Spatiale from 6 to 10 July 2026 at the Royaumont Abbey, offered the opportunity to discuss the impact of the climate crisis on the space sector. Learn more about the Académie Spatiale d’Île-de-France Centre International Jules Verne Did Jules Verne have any idea of the impact his writing would have, when in 1865 he published the space-faring adventures of journalist Michel Ardan aboard a projectile shot from the Columbiad, a giant cannon built in Florida near Cape Canaveral? In recognition of this legacy, the name Jules Verne was given to a 112 km-wide crater on the far side of the Moon, as well as to the European Space Agency’s first automated transfer vehicle (ATV) flight model used to carry supplies to the International Space Station (ISS). Created in 1971, the Centre International Jules Verne has amassed a collection of 25,000 documents, including books, press articles, posters, images, drawings and more. Learn more about Centre International Jules Verne École Normale Supérieure Space Chair Created in 2024 with the aim of contributing to thinking on space issues, the Space Chair of the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) is the fruit of close collaboration between the ENS Foundation and the main French leaders in the sector. Through a number of events, including conferences, talks and workshops, and annual publications, the Chair studies technological and sustainable uses of space, conceptions of space and issues concerning space as a common good and as a matter of sovereignty. Learn more about The Space Foundation Les Jeunes IHEDN With a membership of 3,200, "Les Jeunes IHEDN" is the leading European and generational association focused on issues of engagement, defense, and security. It is supported by both the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. Since 1996, the association has brought together young auditors who have completed training at the National Institute for Higher Defense Studies (IHEDN), and it is now open to all young people. Spatio is aimed at all stakeholders in the sector, both private and public (legal professionals, financial experts, institutional representatives, engineers, scientists, and researchers), based in France and Europe. The think tank offers its members a variety of events and working groups focused on key issues for the space industry. As a non-profit organization dedicated to the public interest, the think tank provides a platform for dialogue and reflection to find solutions that strengthen the French and European space industries.
