The prize honours excellent European research that contributes to the future of Europe. Berlin, 21 January 2026. European Union scholars are again invited to submit their works from the social sciences for the Henrik Enderlein Prize. The research prize in honour of the Hertie School’s late President is aimed at young researchers aged 40 or younger whose work demonstrates scholarly excellence and a practical contribution to public debate on the future of Europe. It is endowed with 10,000 euros in total and was first awarded in 2022. Applications will be accepted until 20 March 2026. The Henrik Enderlein Prize is jointly awarded by the Hertie School, Sciences Po, the German Federal Foreign Office and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. This year’s winner will be recognised during a festive event in Berlin this summer. Enderlein, who passed away in 2022, was a graduate of Sciences Po and the founding director of the Jacques Delors Centre. Past winners of the prize include international relations and environmental scholar Alice Vadrot (University of Vienna); economist Stefanie Stantcheva (Harvard University); political scientist Tarik Abou-Chadi (University of Oxford); legal scholar Vladislava Stoyanova (Lund University); political economist and sociologist Alexandros Kentikelenis (Bocconi University); and political scientist Filip Kostelka (European University Institute).
