Israel/Palestinian Territories – Crew of the Freedom Flotilla

Six French nationals aboard a vessel attempting to reach the Gaza Strip were apprehended at sea by Israeli security forces yesterday.

France’s Consulate General in Tel Aviv is closely following their situation and was able to pay them an initial visit as soon as they arrived on Israeli soil to ask about their conditions, their treatment and their health. A new request for a consular visit was made. Our consular post is also in touch with their loved ones.

As the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs has reiterated, France calls on the Israeli government to allow the immediate, massive, unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
