Political relations

France and the maintain dynamic relations. The cooperation between the two countries is intense, in fields including education, the environment, scientific research, culture and heritage. The Congolese President, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, made an official visit to Paris on 23 May 2025, accompanied by a large ministerial delegation. Matters discussed included major bilateral and international issues, the climate and environmental protection, such as the protection of the Congo’s forests.
