In 2011 and 2012 respectively, the French overseas territories of Guadeloupe and Martinique signed declarations of intent with Antigua and Barbuda aimed at establishing cooperation in the areas of tourism, healthcare, culture, education and agriculture. In 2015, Martinique joined the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), of which Antigua and Barbuda is a founding member. In 2019, Guadeloupe was awarded associate member status, and Saint Martin was admitted as an observer member.
