Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will meet on April 4 with Amina Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General responsible for monitoring the sustainable development goals, climate and UN reform.
The discussions will focus on the reform of the UN promoted by Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, with France’s full support. This reform notably aims to strengthen the link between the peacekeeping operations, the promotion of human rights and UN action in support of development.
Jean-Marc Ayrault and Amina Mohammed will also discuss the UN’s capacity to support states in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
They will underscore the need for all signatory states to ratify the Paris Climate Agreement and ensure its full implementation.
