France congratulates Ecuador, Japan, Malta, Mozambique and Switzerland on their June 9th election to the United Nations Security Council.

France will work together closely with each of these partner countries, whose term will begin on January 1, 2023, in order to ensure that the Security Council fully shoulders its great responsibility to maintain peace and security in the world.

As a permanent member of the Security Council, France reiterates its deep commitment to the multilateral system and to the peaceful resolution of disputes at a time when the international community is still confronted with many attacks on international security.
