Located in the very heart of France, the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region offers something for everyone!

The Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region, a unification of the former regions of Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes in the south-central part of France, is a place of culture, beauty and wonder.

From the mythical Mont Blanc to the majestic Pont d’Arc in the gorges of Ardeche, the region’s wild spaces will amaze nature lovers and outdoor sports fans. For example, Mont-Blanc overlooks the Alps, which are home to the largest ski area in the world. Here you can enjoy downhill or cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe walks, sled rides, ice diving, curling, etc. Or go trekking in Vanoise Park, horseback riding in the Regional Natural Park of Pilat, or try spelunking in the Isère caves, particularly in the Cuves de Sassenage. The Livradois Forez Regional Natural Park possesses several thousand kilometers of walking trails between forests, massifs and glacial valleys. Afterwards, why not relax in any of the region’s many centers dedicated to wellbeing?

Or if you rather experience French city life, consider visiting Grenoble, the hometown of Stendhal. There is also Vienne which proudly displays its Gallo-Roman ruins. Lyon, Chamonix, Annecy and Chambéry boast many wonderful sites and monuments – all invitations to come discover these magical cities.
