G7 - Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs calls his G7 counterparts (6 January 2026)
Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, had a telephone conversation with his G7 counterparts on 6 January 2026.
This first exchange between G7 foreign ministers under the French G7 presidency provided an opportunity to discuss the main international issues of current concern, including the situation in Venezuela, and welcome the progress on security guarantees for Ukraine during the Coalition of the Willing summit, held in Paris today.
Under its G7 presidency in 2026, and in preparation for the Evian summit, France will go on working with its partners to respond to crises, fight against major global imbalances and rebuild international partnerships.
