France welcomes the Turkish Parliament’s ratification of Finland’s NATO membership yesterday. This is the 30th and final ratification by the Allies, and it opens the door to Finland’s formal membership in the Alliance.

France now expects Turkey and Hungary to immediately move forward with the ratification of Sweden’s NATO bid so that the organization can welcome two new allies at the Vilnius summit in July 2023.

Sweden and Finland have strong military capabilities that are interoperable with NATO. Their membership will contribute significantly to Euro-Atlantic security and to strengthening the Atlantic Alliance to the benefit of all of its members.
