France pays tribute to the 70th anniversary of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), an internationally renowned laboratory for particle physics, located in France and Switzerland. The project, which began in 1954 and brings together 38 countries, embodies the success of effective European scientific cooperation and is in line with the objective of a powerful, sovereign, influential Europe.

As a host State, France is a committed player and supports this scientific, technological and human adventure, which allows us to push back the boundaries of knowledge thanks to the collaboration of physicists from all over the world, who are working on particle collision, including in France.

It reiterates its support for the Future Circular Collider (FCC) project, currently being studied, which will enable exploration of the most fundamental elements of matter. France also pays tribute to the efforts of Director-General Fabiola Gianotti.
