“Over 500 of us gathered in Paris today in the name of a coalition of States that reject regression. An enlarged coalition, bringing together all regions of the world. A courageous, determined coalition which affirms its commitment to gender equality […], which speaks with one voice through a political declaration.” - Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Meeting on 22 and 23 October 2025, 31 States endorsed a political declaration at the Fourth Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policies.

In an international context marked by a rise in anti-rights movements and broader opposition to multilateralism, this declaration carries two key messages: it reaffirms the commitment of the signatory States to existing international gender-equality frameworks; and it emphasizes their commitment to building a solid defence against attacks that threaten women’s and girls’ rights from all sides.
