The 10th World Forum for Democracy was held in Strasbourg from 7 to 9 November 2022. Olivier Véran, Minister Delegate for Democratic Renewal, attached to the Prime Minister, and Government Spokesperson, represented France at the second plenary session.

The World Forum for Democracy is a Council of Europe initiative that was launched in 2012 under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic. It is an invaluable platform for debate between policy-makers, rights defenders, civil society representatives and young citizens from around the world, to imagine innovative solutions to address the major challenges democracies are facing. More than 8,000 participants from more than 100 different States took part in previous Forums.

The democratic model is a cornerstone of European values. France remains committed to promoting and protecting democracy, the rule of law and human rights.
