The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs will visit Aix-en-Provence on 15 December 2017 to present France’s international digital strategy at thecamp, an iconic location for digital innovation.
He will be accompanied by representatives of the French and European digital ecosystems.
This visit is symbolic of the new diplomacy required by the challenges of digital technology, a diplomacy which is capable of creating dialogue between public players and the private sector, the world of research and civil society representatives.
Designed as a “base camp”, thecamp is an extraordinary campus which brings together large companies, SMEs, elected representatives and local authorities, resident start-ups, experts and young creatives. The visit by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs will be an opportunity to discuss with entrepreneurs and start-ups from around the world.
He will also participate in a round-table session on the challenges of digital technology with industry experts such as Alexandre Cadain, Artificial Intelligence specialist and founder of Anima.ai, Naomi Roth, founder of Virtuality for Reality and international expert in fields related to Virtual Reality, and Ammin Youssouf, founder of the Afrobytes platform which builds bridges between the tech diaspora and African ecosystems.
Following this discussion, the Minister will present the main focuses of France’s international digital strategy drawn up following a public consultation launched in 2016.
