France applauds the election of French Ambassador for Global Health Anne-Claire Amprou to the position of Chair of the Unitaid Executive Board.

Unitaid, which is hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, ensures equitable access to innovative health products for people affected by pandemics, in particular, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. The organization will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year.

Anne-Claire Amprou brings to this position at Unitaid extensive experience in global health, notably acquired during her tenure as Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body for the Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response Agreement, which was adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) Member States in May 2025.

The new Chair succeeds Marisol Touraine, who has served in the position since June 2019 and whom France thanks for her dedication.

The election of Ambassador Amprou speaks to France’s support of Unitaid at a decisive time for global health.

France wishes her much success and assures her of the country’s full support in the execution of her mission.
