On April 12, the OECD published preliminary data on official development assistance (ODA) by member countries for 2022. France is now the fourth-largest donor worldwide. ODA provided by France amounts to more than .56% of GDP, exceeding the goal set by President Macron in 2017, with a more targeted policy of solidarity-based investment, especially in the areas of health, climate change adaptation and education.

Furthermore, 2022 marked the first time that France ranked among the top 10 actors in the area of humanitarian aid.

France’s solidarity-based investments in Africa increased considerably amid an overall decrease from other donors, confirming our determination to build partnerships with African countries and to support the development of a continent enjoying rapid growth.
