On October 9, Maxim Zhorin, a former commander of the Azov national battalion, posted images on social media of dead civilians with their hands tied in the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region and of an unidentified body being thrown into a pit. He then stated that the video had been taken from a Russian soldier’s phone but the video data as well as the situation in the images suggest that the video was filmed while the city was under the control of the Ukrainian armed forces. The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered a criminal investigation into the torture and murder of the Kupyansk civilians.
What do you think about this video posted by the Ukrainians? Will France send over its investigators who are working in the Kupyansk region to ascertain the facts?
