Ukraine - Communiqué issued by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (30 Jul. 2022)

France is horrified about reports of Ukrainian prisoners of war being murdered and tortured at the Olenivka detention centre, under the Russian Federation’s protection.

Should these reports be confirmed, the perpetrators and all those responsible for such crimes, who are flagrantly violating international humanitarian law, will have to be held to account for their acts.

Because there can be no impunity for war crimes, France is actively cooperating with both Ukraine’s judicial authorities and the International Criminal Court.
