Syria – Shelling of a displaced persons camp (20 November 2019)

France strongly condemns the continued indiscriminate rocket attacks by the Syrian regime and its allies targeted against Idlib, notably the attack carried out on November 20 against a displaced persons camp near the Turkish border, in an area where many Syrians fleeing the fighting had taken refuge, which has reportedly left several people dead.

The continued hostilities undermine efforts to find a credible and negotiated political solution in accordance with UNSCR 2254.

France calls for the immediate cessation of hostilities in the Idlib region.
