Syria – Terrorist attack on U.S. personnel (December 15, 2025)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the terrorist attack on American military and civilian personnel near Palmyra, which resulted in several casualties among U.S. personnel and members of the Syrian security forces.
France offers its condolences to the victims’ families and wishes those wounded a speedy recovery. We express our solidarity with the American authorities, with whom we serve in the Global Coalition against Daesh, and with the Syrian transitional authorities.

France will continue to combat terrorism in all its forms and calls for close cooperation between the international community and the Syrian transitional authorities on this issue, in line with our common security interests and for the sake of regional stability.
