Sudan – Welcoming of evacuated French people and their families - Statement by the ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Spokesperson (April, 26 2023)

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mme Catherine Colonna, and the Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad, M. Olivier Becht, are this morning welcoming to Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport 184 French nationals and their families, as well as about 20 other nationals, including the European Union delegate, returning from Djibouti as part of the evacuation operations from Sudan conducted in coordination with the Ministry for the Armed Forces.

The flight was chartered by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs’ Crisis and Support Centre under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The Government has mobilized the various State services to provide immediate, long-term administrative and social support to those evacuated French people who need it.
