Sudan – Normalization of relations between Sudan and Israel (27 October 2020)
France welcomes the announcement of the normalization of relations between Sudan and Israel and an end to the state of belligerence between the two countries.
This decision is an important step following Sudan’s removal from the U.S. list of states supporting terrorism.
The resumption of negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians on the establishment of two states within the framework of international law and on the basis of agreed parameters is the only way to achieve just and lasting peace in the region.
France reaffirms its determination to support the democratic transition in Sudan and reiterates its willingness to host a high-level conference in Paris to mobilize international support for the new Sudan, in accordance with the commitment made by President Macron.
