South Africa – Foreign trade – Meeting between Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne and Rob Davies (24 May 2018)

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will meet today with Rob Davies, South African Minister of Trade and Industry, on the sidelines of the VivaTechnology show in Paris.

France and South Africa maintain a dynamic partnership in the innovation and technology sectors being showcased at the show.

The meeting will focus on the strengthening of our economic relations: 360 French firms operate in South Africa which is also France’s largest customer in sub-Saharan Africa.

The minister of state will also discuss trade policy issues: the implementation of the EU-SADC agreement, notably in the agricultural and agri-food sectors, international trade tensions, the WTO situation and ways to preserve an open, rules-based multilateral trading system.
