Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is conducting a working visit to Bucharest from April 11 to 12. He will meet with President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu, as well as the presidents of the two chambers of the Romanian Parliament.
The discussions will focus on strengthening our bilateral relations, marked, on the cultural front, by the upcoming 2019 France-Romania Season and, on the economic front, by a sharp increase in our trade which is expected to be confirmed (€7.8 billion in 2017), on current European issues in the run-up to the Romanian presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2019, as well as on the main international issues.
During his visit, Jean-Yves Le Drian will also meet with Laura Kovesi, Chief Prosecutor of Romania’s National Anticorruption Directorate.
Lastly, he will bestow the insignia of Officer of the Legion of Honor upon Dacian Ciolos, former prime minister and former European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development.
