France condemns the January 5th firing of a missile characterized by North Korea as hypersonic in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

France calls on North Korea to end its program of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, which threaten regional and international peace and security, and to comply with UN Security Council obligations.

It emphasizes its determination to pursue – together with its partners – the goal of North Korea’s total, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization and to encourage dialogue between all the parties, especially North and South, to ease regional tensions.
