France condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack on the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) north of Mopti on March 7, which killed two Egyptian peacekeepers and wounded four others. We offer our condolences to the victims’ loved ones and to the Egyptian authorities, and wish the wounded peacekeepers a speedy recovery.

France commends the dedication shown by MINUSMA, which has a crucial role to play in stabilizing Mali. We reiterate our support for the authorities of the Sahel countries in their fight against terrorism.

France also condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack on Malian armed forces in Mondoro on March 4, which killed a large number of Malian soldiers. We offer our condolences to the families and to the Malian people as a whole, and wish those injured a speedy recovery.

The perpetrators of these attacks must be identified and held accountable for their actions.
