The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs takes note of the decision handed down on July 17 by the chamber responsible for the application of sentences at the Paris Court of Appeal concerning the parole request for Georges Ibrahim Abdallah. Mr. Abdallah received a life sentence as an accessory to murder and has been in prison since 1984.

The decision by the court, which is by definition independent, came in the wake of the appeal filed by the National Antiterrorist Prosecutor in accordance with the applicable procedural rules. France reaffirms its solidarity with the loved ones of the American and Israeli victims of the heinous acts of terrorism for which Mr. Abdallah was convicted.
