Kuwait – Conversation between Olivier Becht and Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Majdi Al-Dhafiri (06 Jul. 2022)

Olivier Becht, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, spoke on July 6 with Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Majdi Al-Dhafiri.

The minister delegate lauded the caliber of bilateral relations between France and Kuwait, based on a shared commitment to multilateralism and respect for international law. He reaffirmed his desire to maintain the positive momentum established by the France-Kuwait Strategic Dialogue, held on January 2. He also underscored the excellent economic relationship between our two countries and called for boosting trade between the EU and Gulf Cooperation Council states.

The ministers discussed the consequences of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and possible responses to the global food crisis caused by the Russian aggression and the ensuing rise in energy prices.

They also discussed the regional issues on which France and Kuwait coordinate.
