Kosovo submits its application to join the European Union (17 December 2022)

France supports Kosovo’s future in Europe, as it does that of the other Western Balkans countries. It calls on Kosovo to continue the reforms necessary for it to move closer to Europe, particularly in terms of the rule of law and the protection of people belonging to minorities. France will continue to support the efforts made in this area.

Kosovo, like Serbia, must also engage responsibly and constructively in dialogue with a view to normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina, an essential condition for the two countries to move closer to Europe and for the whole region’s stability.
