Israel/Palestinian Territories – Departures from the Gaza Strip (11 July 2025)
France has been working actively for nearly two years to ensure the protection of its nationals and their dependants, staff of the Institut français de Gaza and their families, holders of French Government scholarships, and Palestinian figures with links to our country.
On Wednesday 9 July, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs organized the departure of 37 people from the Gaza Strip; they returned to France today. The operation follows several conducted since January 2025, which have allowed 292 people to be evacuated to France.
France reiterates its firm opposition to any forced displacement of Gaza’s Palestinian population, which would be a serious violation of international law. It recalls its commitment to the two-state solution, the only one capable of enabling Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace and security.
France reiterates its call for full and unimpeded humanitarian access for aid to enter the Gaza Strip for the benefit of civilians, and for a durable ceasefire to be concluded.
