Summoning of Iran’s Ambassador to France (13 January 2026)

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ambassador to France was summoned to the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs today, Tuesday 13 January 2025.

France condemns in the strongest terms the state violence inflicted indiscriminately on peaceful demonstrators. With the deliberate use of violence having already caused the deaths of a very large number of demonstrators, and with arbitrary arrests and the Internet blackout continuing, France calls on the Iranian authorities to respect Iranians’ freedoms and basic rights.

France today stands by the Iranian people more than ever. Iran must respect the legitimate aspirations of its population.
