Munich security conference – Visit by Catherine Colonna (17-18 February 2023)

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs is taking part in the Munich Security Conference on 17 and 18 February.

After accompanying the French President in his meetings on 17 February, the Minister joined a panel comprising Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and US Senator Mitch McConnell. She signalled France’s unflinching support for Ukraine and its desire to speed up and increase that support in order to frustrate the aggression conducted by Russia for nearly a year.

On 18 February, the Minister will take part in ministerial meetings of the Quad and G7, devoted primarily to the situations in Iran and Ukraine.

She will also take part in a trilateral meeting will German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Prime Minister Albin Kurti of Kosovo, to signal France and Germany’s backing for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, in support of the mediation conducted by the European Union.

The Minister will also hold meetings on the sidelines of the conference with her counterparts from Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Georgia.
