Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna is traveling to Estonia from October 24-25.

The minister will meet with Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and her Estonian counterpart, Urmas Reinsalu. She will discuss the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as well as how best to respond, especially with regard to the energy situation, following on from the European Council meetings last week. Catherine Colonna will talk about the continued European and bilateral support of Kyiv and their military support in particular. In addition, the discussions will cover several international topics of shared interest, specifically the Sahel and EU-China relations.

This trip will also afford the minister the opportunity to highlight France and Estonia’s exceptionally cohesive military and strategic partnership. She will visit the French troops stationed at the Tapa Base, whose assignment there has been prolonged and will be expanded very soon in the context of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) along the eastern border.

The minister will pay homage to the victims of Soviet communism by visiting the Tallinn Memorial.
