Democratic Republic of the Congo – Disarmament of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) (October 14, 2025)

France applauds the announcement made by the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) on October 10 calling on the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) to put down their weapons and surrender to the Congolese authorities or to MONUSCO. This constitutes an important step in the implementation of the plan for the neutralization of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda.

France recalls its support of the peace processes and invites the parties to fully implement the June 27, 2025, Washington Agreement, which is essential for lasting de-escalation in the Great Lakes region.
