Q : Is France at all concerned by China’s aid for the Russian war effort in Ukraine?

R : As we have consistently emphasized in our talks with the Chinese authorities, and as the [foreign] minister reiterated during his visit to Beijing on April 1, any support for the Russian war effort directly affects the security of Europeans and will therefore have consequences.

We hope, in this regard, that China will block any support for the Russian war effort by Chinese entities.

France also believes that China could help convince Russia to end its war of aggression in Ukraine.
