Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna met today with her Belgian counterpart, Hadja Lahbib. Their meeting reflects the close cooperation between our countries on international and European issues, as well as bilateral matters.
The ministers discussed the situation in Ukraine, particularly European responses to the consequences of the war. They also addressed the situation in the Sahel and the Great Lakes region.
With Belgium facing growing threats, they talked about stepping up our bilateral cooperation on counterterrorism, illegal immigration and human trafficking. They also emphasized the importance of working together on defense.
