One year after the Ougadougou speech: the achievements of France’s diplomatic network

One year ago, French President Emmanuel Macron gave a speech in Ougadougou describing his programme to build a new relationship between France and Africa.

It is not simply French-African dialogue that we must rebuild together, but a project between our two continents, a truly new relationship.

He set out major commitments in four fields that are particularly relevant for the future of young people in Africa: education and academic cooperation, innovation and economic partnerships, climate and sustainable cities, and culture.

Since then, dozens of projects have been launched or completed in almost all African countries. The following projects have been implemented by France’s embassies and cooperation network in Africa.
