Conference in Paris on 30 October, in support of peace and prosperity in the Great Lakes region (16 October 2025)
France will hold a conference in Paris on 30 October, in support of peace and prosperity in the Great Lakes region.
Organized in close coordination with Togo, the African Union’s mediator for the Great Lakes, the conference’s main aim will be to mobilize the international community to respond to the humanitarian emergency in the eastern DRC and in the region. It will also provide an opportunity to support the ongoing negotiation and mediation process, promoted by the United States, Qatar and the African Union. Finally, it will enable discussion, on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum, about the essential deepening of regional economic integration, a crucial vehicle for lasting peace.
The event will thus allow the international community to signal its commitment to peace and prosperity in the Great Lakes region and provide tangible support for local populations.
