Albert-Londres prizewinners announced (29 november 2022)
France hails yesterday’s awarding of the Albert-Londres print media Prize to Margaux Benn, senior reporter for Le Figaro, in recognition of her excellent coverage of the war in Ukraine. An honorary prize was also awarded to the Ukrainian journalists Andriy Tsaplienko and Sevgil Musaieva. Documentary filmmakers Alexandra Jousset and Ksenia Bolchakova won the Albert-Londres audiovisual prize for their documentary, Wagner, Putin’s Shadow Army. We wish to convey our heartfelt congratulations to the winners of this prestigious prize.
France reaffirms its unwavering commitment to media freedom, freedom of expression and the safety of journalists. We are determined to promote global access to free, democratic, trustworthy information, in particular through the International Partnership for Information and Democracy, an initiative launched with Reporters Without Borders in 2019 that has been endorsed by 50 nations worldwide. At the Paris Peace Forum, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna announced political and financial support for the International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM) to assist independent media outlets in difficulty and foster cooperation with French public media operators and outlets and French-speaking stakeholders.
