Iraq – Attacks against the security forces in the Kurdish autonomous region

France utterly condemns the attacks carried in Duhok Governorate against the security forces in the Kurdish autonomous region, which resulted in several casualties among their ranks. It extends its condolences to the bereaved and assures the injured of its sympathy.

The Kurdish forces, together with the Iraqi federal security forces, are our partners in the fight against Daesh. France condemns these actions targeted against them, as well as the attacks of any kind on the sovereignty and integrity of Iraq and the stability of the Kurdish autonomous region.

In this respect, France reaffirms that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) is considered by the EU to be a terrorist organization.
