Q: The Russian foreign minister presented proposals for a Normandy Format meeting. What is France’s reaction to these proposals?
A: During the meeting between President Macron and the German Chancellor with their Russian counterpart on October 11, it was agreed that a ministerial meeting would be held in the Normandy Format in the coming weeks. We repeatedly proposed dates for this meeting. We are still waiting for an answer from the Russians in order to hold this meeting as soon as possible.
France, along with Germany, is pursuing its efforts within the Normandy Format in support of the full implementation of the Minsk Agreement, the only agreed-to basis for permanently resolving the Donbas conflict.
