Ukraine – Massive airstrikes on Kyiv (August 28, 2025)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the massive airstrikes that struck Kyiv overnight. According to initial reports, 14 people were killed, including three children, and some 30 people were injured. This brutal attack, which also seriously damaged the EU Delegation office in Ukraine, is unacceptable. It reminds us once again that Russia has shown no indication that it intends to end its war of aggression.

France expresses its utmost solidarity with the victims and their families, as well as rescue services and the EU Delegation staff in Kyiv. France will continue to work with its partners to obtain a just and lasting peace, and reaffirms its determination to support Ukraine in the long term.
