France utterly condemns the latest Russian missile strikes in Ukraine, which left some 50 people injured in Kyiv and Odesa during the night.

As winter sets in, Russia is continuing its strategy of terror and is once again flagrantly and deliberately violating international law by targeting towns and civilian infrastructure.

On the eve of a European Council meeting aimed at reaffirming European support for Ukraine in every area and in the long term, France reiterates its resolute commitment to Ukrainian resilience. As Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna has repeatedly emphasized, France will continue to work closely with its partners to provide Ukraine with the aid it needs to ensure its legitimate defense. Russia knows that our determination to support Ukraine for as long as it takes remains unwavering.

France will also continue its support for the Ukrainian courts and the International Criminal Court to combat impunity for crimes committed by Russia. And France will continue its food aid to the countries most vulnerable to food insecurity as a result of the Russian aggression.
