For the 2nd anniversary of the IDAHOBIT declaration, signed by 14 EU Member States, France would like to commend the decision of Portugal and Slovenia to join and sign this call to act further in favor of LGBTIQ rights within the EU and throughout the world.

In the context of a global backlash against these rights and liberties, the action of Portugal and Slovenia represents a renewed opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to promote and defend the common values of the European Union enshrined in the article 2 of the Treaty on the European Union (TEU).

As it was the case for Portugal and Slovenia, the list of signatories states remains open to any EU Member States willing to join.
