Russia – Press speculation on the Sinai plane crash (6 November, 2015)

Journalists in France are free to express their opinions, but they do not reflect the views of the French government.

We were among the first to express our condolences to the Russian people and authorities on Saturday, as soon as we learned of this terrible tragedy.

France has made investigators available from the Bureau d’Equêtes et d’Analyses pour la Sécurité de l’Aviation Civile (BEA) [the French authority responsible for safety investigations into accidents or incidents in civil aviation], who are now on the ground to help Egyptian and Russian investigators.

We will refrain from commenting on the causes of this tragedy as the investigation is still under way.
