Francophonie – Inauguration of the Maison des Etudiants de la Francophonie at Paris’s Cité Internationale Universitaire (30 November 2021)
Tomorrow Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, will inaugurate the Maison des Etudiants de la Francophonie student residence at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP). This event will be attended by the rector of the Ile-de-France academic region, the rector of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and the President of the CIUP National Foundation.
A major component of the international strategy to promote the French language and multilingualism presented by President Macron at the Institut de France on March 20, 2018, the Maison des Etudiants de la Francophonie was made possible by the joint efforts of the French Government, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP). It is one of many measures taken to promote the French language and the attractiveness of French higher education.
The mission of the Maison des Etudiants de la Francophonie is to help strengthen student mobility and foster university cooperation with French-speaking countries. Three hundred private studios, 150 of which are made available to the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), will be occupied by Masters students and international researchers who are either French-speaking or hope to be.
The Maison des Etudiants de la Francophonie promotes a message imbued with the values fostered by the Francophonie organization: coexistence and cultural dialogue.
