UN - France condemns the attack on MINUSMA in the strongest possible terms (06 Jul. 2022)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the July 5th attack on the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), which occurred between Gao and Tessalit. This attack left two Egyptian peacekeepers dead and wounded five others.

France offers its condolences to the deceased soldiers’ loved ones and to the Egyptian authorities. We wish the wounded peacekeepers a speedy recovery.

France applauds the commitment demonstrated by MINUSMA, which plays a vital role in stabilizing Mali. We reaffirm our support for the authorities of the Sahel countries in their fight against terrorism.
